Editorial policy

These are the rules we use for every page: what counts as a source, when a page is updated, how corrections work, and where AI is allowed and not allowed.

Who writes and checks the pages

The site is run independently. Pages are drafted and edited by the site’s editor; the method pages are checked against the code that ships on the site and against the sources listed on the page. We do not claim a professional colour-analyst credential we do not hold, and we do not invent a reviewer.

Sources and dates

• Colour-science claims cite a primary source: a standards body, a peer-reviewed paper or a named book. Where a claim is a convention rather than a finding, the page says “convention”.
• Competitor prices and features are read from the provider’s public page or app listing on the date shown. They change; the date is part of the claim.
• Pages that make a factual claim carry a “last updated” or “checked” date. Undated pages are drafts, not evidence.

Corrections

If a page is wrong, email billing@seasoncolortest.com with the URL and the sentence. We check the source, correct the page, and add a dated note where the change is material. We do not silently rewrite a page and keep the old date.

How AI is used

AI tools may help draft, outline, check grammar or generate test cases. They are not a source. Every factual claim, quotation and number is checked against a named source by a human before it is published. We do not use AI to invent a case study, a customer review, an expert quote or an accuracy figure. The photo check is a deterministic colour calculation, not a generative model.

Reviews and testimonials

We publish a testimonial only with the person’s permission and only if we can identify the purchase or the interaction behind it. We do not write testimonials, buy reviews or use a stock photo as a customer. If there are no reviews on a page, it is because we do not have permissioned ones yet, not because we are hiding a bad rating.

Advertising and affiliate links

There are no display ads and no affiliate links on the pages. The site is funded by the one-time reports. If that changes, the change will be disclosed on this page and on the page where the link appears.
