We placed three dots: S skin (cheek), H hair, E eye. If one is off, pick it below and tap the right spot on the photo.

One-time vs subscription apps vs an in-person consultant
| One-time (this page) | Subscription apps | In-person consultant | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical price | $9.99 once | About $5.99–$9.99 a week, or $7.99–$39.99 for monthly to yearly plans (source) | About $250 at an independent US studio, about $350 with a franchise consultant (source) |
| Renews? | No | Yes, until you cancel | No |
| What you get | Season, 36 colors with hex codes, metals, printable report | Varies; some lock results until you pay | Physical draping in person with a trained analyst |
| Time | A few minutes | A few minutes | 1–3 hours plus travel |
| Best for | A clear answer at a fixed price | People who want ongoing in-app styling | Borderline coloring, or anyone who wants an expert in the room |
Prices read on 2026-10-30 from the sources linked above, which compiled public App Store and studio price lists in October 2026. In-person draping in good light is still the most thorough method; a photo read is a strong first answer for the price.
Questions about color analysis apps
Are color analysis apps a scam?
Most aren't a scam, but many complaints are about money. A public review of 1,012 low-star app reviews found 59% were about money: price, unexpected charges or results locked after upload. Check the price and whether it renews before you upload a photo. Here it is a single $9.99 payment, shown before checkout.
Why did an app charge me again after I paid?
Many color analysis apps sell weekly, monthly or yearly plans that renew until cancelled. Deleting the app does not cancel the plan. On iPhone you cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. This page is a single payment with nothing to renew.
Why does my season change every time I upload a new photo?
Light changes the colors a camera records. Use a daylight window, no filter and no makeup, and keep the camera at face height. The paid report includes 3 retests, and the result is the consensus of your photos rather than whichever one came last.
Should I trust color analysis app reviews?
Read the one- and two-star reviews and look for three things: charges after cancelling, results that only unlock after paying, and different results from different photos. If those come up again and again, the price page matters more than the star rating.
What do I see before paying?
Your warm or cool undertone and 3 of your colors, read on your device. The full season, palette, neutrals, colors to avoid and printable report are the one-time $9.99 unlock, with no watermark.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The selfie is analysed in your browser and never sent to our server.
